We bought Trecorras Farm in 2011 and very soon recognised the significant environmental benefits of farming in a sustainable way, making the most of the soils that we have and avoiding food waste. We both strongly believe this is the only way forward for the future. John has a background in farming, having been brought up on his family’s farm in neighbouring Gloucestershire and after attending agricultural college in Gloucestershire has had a successful career in agriculture. Julie comes from the Peak District and grew up with a love of the countryside and rural communities. She started her own Planning Consultancy Business in 2006 which specialises in rural planning issues.
Our passion for the environment and for food with provenance - produced to high welfare standards and in a sustainable way - resonates with Chefs and restaurants across the country and we are proud to supply some fabulous restaurants, butchers and farm shops across the country.
Johns commitment to the environment and his enthusiasm to implement more sustainable methods of farming lead to him being chosen to be a finalist in the British Farming Award 2017 Arable Innovator of the Year group. This year will see us working with various environmental groups to improve the quality of soils and prevent pollution into our rivers and stream. It will also see us working with chefs to highlight food sustainability and minimise waste in the food industry.

We buy our kid goats as newborns from neighbouring high health status dairy units. Up until recently, billy kids were a bi-product of the goat dairy industry and were euthanized at birth.
We’re so lucky to farm in the beautiful county of Herefordshire. We’re proud of our Herefordshire roots and the county’s strong agricultural and food heritage. We’re delighted to be one of the many local food producers building on this heritage today.
